Happy March! Today’s full moon is a Worm Moon, a blood moon, and there’s been no shortage of bad blood around here. I admit to being on a rampage of sorts lately. Who needs horror movies when you can turn on CNN!
While the misery is palpable, I must remember to lean on my love for Halloween, horror, and haiku to save me from the insanity. I’m committed to creating my art every full moon and on special occasions, like St. Patrick’s Day coming up on March 17th.
March is my favorite non-Ber month. It’s a magical month full of mystery, fun, and my favorite mythological supernatural creatures of all time, such as the frightening Dullahan aka the Headless Horseman, mischievous leprechauns, enchanted fairies, scary or not, and of course, the wailing banshee, a ghastly female entity known to roam the countrysides of Ireland whose cries serve as warnings for legendary families of impending death and doom.
It seems those keening spectres have made their way to America. Will anyone listen?

Happy February! Today’s full moon is a Snow Moon. Reminder that I’m combining my haiku with the monthly full moon dates.
Freedom in the land is frozen. Abominable monsters are on the rise and people everywhere are anxious, scared, and tired. Now is the time when we need gather all are strengh and all our courage. I’m realizing saving OUR country is going to be the fight to end all fights and no matter what happens, home, will never be the same. The enemy knows this and rich kings who depend on poor farmers to do their fighting for them know those people have nothing left to lose. The real question becomes, are you prepared to lose everything to fight for your freedom?
It’s going to be a long long winter.
frozen tundra chasing our stolen freedom hearts of stone
On this last day in January, I thought I’d post a movie list as cold and bleak as a winter day.
I recently saw Robert Egger’s retelling of Nosferatu in the theaters. Anyone familiar with Eggers work, in particular 2015’s The VVitch, knows that the director pays meticulous attention to detail and pulls no punches in getting his period films to look, sound and feel authentic to period of time the story is set in. I highly recommend Nosferatu for anyone into gothic victorian horror and lovers of the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker.
Victorian Horror films are some of my favorite types of horror because the atmosphere is filled with such dark despair, viewers want to wrap themselves in a blanket just to watch the movie. This is in no means a comprehensive list, but it’s a darn good start!
Hello and Happy New Year! This month’s theme is the winter wolf. The winter wolf braces for the long cold months with courage and intelligence. Having already grown in its winter coat and possessing the gift of adaptability, this magnificent creature is well equipped to survive brutal harsh weather.
A few years ago, I quit Facebook. Last year, I quit Twitter. I was never on Tik Tok, and so, this year, I’m widening my self-imposed ban on social media to include Instagram and Threads. My time and energy can be used much more productively, and my money and support, well, that’s reserved for ideals I believe in.

Wolves are highly intelligent, social creatures. They’re caring, playful and all about the family and pack. When an enemy appears and threatens said tribe (like a buncha Nazis, kidnappers, rapists, slavedrivers, terrorists, treasoners, and their followers, who sadly allowed their cowardly, greedy, jealous minds to get hijacked), it’s time to get strategic about how to fight this evil, just like how they got strategic in their takeover of America. I’m choosing with my wallet and my eyeballs first. The battle has already begun.
The only thing I’ll miss are friends. I don’t expect any friends to do this too. Everyone needs to decide which roads to travel on their own. I do expect my real friends to understand and love me. Maybe we’ll see each other again and pick back up, right where we left off.
So, what does all this mean for my little web blog? Not much here is going to change. I’ll still do monthly haiku, a monthly blog post, post movie lists or reviews, post art and images, recipes and fun stuff associated with Halloween, horror and haiku. Who knows, with all that extra time and effort not spent catering to bots and an endless sea of scrolling eyeballs, I’ll produce something more impactful to culture and humanity.
I urge everyone to spend less time on social media, less time listening to big media, less time thinking about non-existent issues that racists, mysognists, and religious zealots want you to worry about. Make art instead. Write poetry. Watch movies. Listen to music. Buy from small mom and pop, brick and mortar stores. Protect the planet. Pay attention to climate change. Practice good DEI. Fight true evil pretending to believe in a fake god, and seriously, fuck nazis.
Happy January! Today’s full moon is a Wolf Moon. Instead of monthly themes, this year, I’ve decided to combine my haiku with the monthly full moon dates.
This past week, my hometown was devastated by wildfires and that influenced my haiku. Angelenos are courageous, creative, innovative, and resilient. They will recover from this tragedy.
It hasn’t been a great start, but the year is just beginning, and there’s plenty of time for a chance to rebound, recover, make positive changes, and do new things. Happy New Year and best wishes to all!

I took a few days off and feel like I missed a month. While 2024 wasnt a bad year, I’m not exactly ending it on a high note. December didn’t go as planned and I’ve learned my lesson about saying I’m doing something and not doing it. No New Year’s resolutions. Those don’t work. I’m just gonna stop sharing my plans and do things a little more spontaneously. No reason not to, and now, no one is disappointed, especially not me. LOL
Have a happy and safe New Year and remember, take 2025 (and the next four years, hopefully less) one day at a time.

You have to purchase a gift card instead and then the person uses it to buy themselves the membership. Taken from website: “Amazon no longer offers the ability to directly gift an Amazon Prime membership, but you can use an Amazon gift card to purchase a Prime membership.”
Gift Cards (price varies)
The good ole standby gift. It may seem impersonal but it’s not. People love getting giftcards. If you know their favorite stores or online shops, it helps, but a Visa giftcard that works anywhere, still the cherry on the top of an ice cream sundae.
