Happy Wicked Art Wednesday! I was feeling a like need a little more tiki artin our lives so today’s artist is the world renowned tiki creator Doug Horne.
Why we love it: Phoenix born Doug Horne, who now resides in Long Beach, CA, has been creating tiki art and tiki mugs for generations. We love his pop culture monsters tiki mash ups. Doug also creates art for tiki bars around the globe. Chances are you may have seen his work up close while sipping on Mai Tais
Today’s Wicked Art Wednesday artist is goth legend Roman Dirge. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to pay a tribute to the amazing creator of comic book series Lenore, the Cute Little Dead Girl and his own unique creepy gothic cute style.
Lenore reboot The Time War, variant issue #1 from January 2025
Why we love it: Magician turned goth artist and comic book creator who never gave up on his dreams on being an artist… we all should admire anyone who pursues their passions and creates a lane for themselves.
For today’s Wicked Art Wednesday, I join the chorus of mourning millions with a tribute to the legendary movie poster king Drew Struzan, who passed away on Oct. 13 2025. We’ve all grown up seeing this man’s breathtaking iconic artwork in our local theaters, advertising what would soon become our favorite movies. There will never be another.
From rock stars to sports icons, custom jobs to landscapes, and Hollywood Murals to Disneyland Halls, chances are if you live in the USA, you’ve probably already seen SoCal artist James Crouch’s vibrant stunning art murals somewhere in person.
Headless Horseman by James Crouch from Vintage Monsters Collection
Why we love it:
James Crouch is an Imagineer working with Walt Disney Company for over 30 years. Some of us just grew up seeing this guy’s iconic work our whole lives.
Happy Walpurgisnacht! It’s Witch’s Night, the night where witches go out broom riding to celebrate the arrival of spring. Well, okay, there’s actually a lot more to it, but that’s the gist of it.
There are lots of Hollywood movies featuring witches, but for the efforts of today’s list, I concentrated on the scary witches. Not all witches are bad, but all bad witches are scary.
Unfortunately, not every scary witch is in a good movie either, and making a list of scariest witch films was my biggest goal.
A list of the scariest witches is going to require a lot more research and will be more controversial! So, for now, watch these ten films and we’ll debate later.
Scariest Witch Films List
Hereditary (2018) VVitch (2015) Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016) Suspira (1977) The Blair Witch Project (1999) Gretel & Hansel (2020) Drag Me to Hell (2009) Black Sunday (1960) The Wretched (2019)
There’s no order to this list. All horror is subjective, but I guarantee each of these films has a couple of scenes that will scare the skin off your bones.
Happy March! Today’s full moon is a Worm Moon, a blood moon, and there’s been no shortage of bad blood around here. I admit to being on a rampage of sorts lately. Who needs horror movies when you can turn on CNN!
While the misery is palpable, I must remember to lean on my love for Halloween, horror, and haiku to save me from the insanity. I’m committed to creating my art every full moon and on special occasions, like St. Patrick’s Day coming up on March 17th.
March is my favorite non-Ber month. It’s a magical month full of mystery, fun, and my favorite mythological supernatural creatures of all time, such as the frightening Dullahan aka the Headless Horseman, mischievous leprechauns, enchanted fairies, scary or not, and of course, the wailing banshee, a ghastly female entity known to roam the countrysides of Ireland whose cries serve as warnings for legendary families of impending death and doom.
It seems those keening spectres have made their way to America. Will anyone listen?
disturb the silence warnings of death and mayhem when the banshees cry
Happy Friday! This week’s gift guide is for the witches. Whether you’re a baby witch or a seasoned enchantress, witches need tools and toys to practice their craft. These gift suggestions are general and meant for everyone. Obviously, if the giftee has a specific practice in mind, like they want to be a kitchen witch or moon witch for example, you’re gonna want to find the tools, toys, and books geared towards that.
I listed some cool items from shops I like, but this is only a tiny guide to inspire you in finding the perfect gift for your favorite witch, even if it’s yourself. Happy Creepmas!

Hello! Today is Shop Small Business Saturday. This new annual tradition of supporting the mom and pop local businesses in your own town follows Black Friday every year. Today, I’m celebrating the last day of November with one of my favorite small businesses.
Backstitch Bruja
It’s been a joy to watch Yvette’s business grow from a small online shop into a real brick and mortar store in San Dimas, CA. This busy entrepreneur still makes time to travel around to Halloween and horror conventions and spooky events around the SoCal area. Follow her on Instagram for details on appearances.
This is just a small taste of what’s offered up this Creepmas season. It seems that everything pictured is still in stock, but merch moves quickly at Backstitch Bruja.
But don’t fret if something sells out. If you can be patient, get yourself a Backstitch Bruja giftcard. They usually restock.
Today, we celebrate the one and only art master Alex Ross, as a special tribute to Halloween, with a look at his beautiful magnificent drawings of the beloved Universal monsters.
Why we love it: Alex Ross’ influence on comic book artists is unparalleled. The man’s technical artistry is awe-inspiring, with his ability to show realism and the emotional depth of characters truly makes them come alive.
I could just sit here all day describing him with good adjectives. Mr. Ross is simply a marvel. One doesn’t just look at his art, they have feelings.
