The theme this month is Dystopian Halloween. What Halloween traditions survive a post-apocalyptic landscape will be up to the survivors. For some of us, Halloween is instilled in our soul. We’ll easily find a way to celebrate the dead. That’s what comes to mind when I found this awesome spooky art from Kellen Carranza.
November 1st is Dia de los Muertos and what better way to celebrate with a little Pan de Muerto, Bread of the Dead. A nice lady named Mely Martinez from the Mexico in my Kitchen has given us a simple recipe for Pan de Muerto, a key ingredient to any Day of the Dead altar.
Pan de Muerto
500grams4 cups All Purpose flour
100grams sugar1/2 cup
80grams butterat room temperature + 30 grs. to brush the bread after baking.
80grams unsalted margarineroom temperature plus more for bowl and pans.
