Merry Christmas! I’ve had a nice lazy relaxing day. It’s been stressful last three months and now I’m ready for few days off to reset before a busy 2024. Tonight’s Christmas cocktail, a sweet and slightly fizzy concoction, is really an experiment of what’s left at the bottom of the kitchen cupboard, but I think it tastes pretty good.

1 cup cranberry wine 1.5 oz Tequila .05 oz Elderflower liqueur ice (optional)

Happy Friday! It’s the return of Friday Fright Nightcaps! Every Friday in October, I post a drink recipe in honor of one of my favorite Universal classic monsters movies. This week is a little concoction called Mummy’s Revival.
I’ll be honest, this recipe is a little sweet. I’m not sure if it’s the coffee or the sugar that can wake the dead, but this is a nice drink to come home to.
Ingredients:
.05 oz -1 oz espresso or dark coffee 1 oz. vodka 1 oz Kahlua 1 oz Bailey’s S’mores or Pumpkin Spice
Garnish: Chocolate Syrup Whipped cream for topping
Mixing Instructions: Mix ingredients well into a shaker. Next, pour into a glass coated with chocolate syrup. Top with whipped cream.
If it’s too sweet, try 1 oz of espresso over coffee. Best when served chilled.
You can stream Universal’s The Mummy, 1932, for free on Prime Video, with a Prime subscription.
Happy Yule! Christmas is hours away and this week has been a whirlwind of work, shopping, chores, cooking, and more. I’m now on vacation until January. Time to relax and unwind.
Now, I know there’s a crazy blizzard happening in the midwest and backeast, but it’s actually really nice in SoCal right now, so I decided on mixing something tropical and Christmassy and came up with the Cranberry Mint Martini.
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup Cranberry juice 1/2 cup Vodka 1-1.5 oz. Peppermint Liqueur
This refreshing holiday cocktail is so crisp and clear, you can see right through it.
Candy cane lovers, indulge your sweet tooth with this dessert holiday cocktail, Peppermint Madness Martini.
Ingredients: 1 cup Peppermint Ice Cream 12 oz. Peppermint Mocha Creamer 2 oz. Peppermint Liqueur 4-6 oz. Vodka 3 oz. Malibu or Coconut Rum
Add all in blender with a little bit of ice and mix well. Serve cold with a candy cane.
Optional rim garnishment: Red sugar Crushed candy canes
Peppermint Madness Martini
You can tone down the sugar and thicken it up by replacing the creamer with heavy whipping cream. Also, add a bit more vodka and leave off the garnish.
I love this time of year because I can make this simple yet amazingly delicious spiced apple cider recipes. This one is great because it can be served with or without alcohol. I like to use Captain Morgan Spiced Rum because sometimes the cider turns out a little fruity and it balances nicely.
Every Halloween season I make it a point to revisit the classic Universal monster films. These are the films that cemented American’s love affair with horror. Watching my favorite old classic horror films is one of my biggest Halloween traditions. This week, I created spooky cocktail to honor Karl Freund’s classic The Mummy, starring the legendary Boris Karloff, with a drink I call Ode to the Mummy.
INGREDIENTS:
3 oz. Coffee 1.5 oz Cutwater Bali Hai Tiki Monkey Liquer 1.5 oz. Vodka 1 oz. French Vanilla Creamer or Cream Splash of Cream of Coconut
