The honest truth is, I almost skipped celebrations this year. It’s hard to find something to smile about with the all world turmoil, pandemic fears, and sadness over the loss of lives taken by Covid-19, but what else is perseverance for, if not to stand up to fear and death by finding the things that make us happy and living our best lives?
People keep saying ‘I cant wait for Fall’ but no one knows what the rest the year, much less October, has in store for us. So, let’s channel our energy into making our realities good, right now.
If nothing else, it’s a helpful distraction.🎃

There are 7 billion people on the planet. Giving away your heart to one of them, won’t kill you.

When Cupid’s arrow strikes, it’ll always be when you last expect it. So chill on feeling lonely or being upset about having nobody on Valentine’s Day. Eros can’t see through that cloud of expectation!

When you do finally find your true love, make sure it’s reciprocal and consensual. Any doubts could mean the romance is one-sided, that only leads to

Too much doubt will also kill your romance. Learn to trust your partner.

Sharing things in common is a must, but you don’t have to do everything together.

Give your significant other a little space. Me time is good for you too. Have your own interests.

Strong communication is the always key to long-lasting relationships.
Love is mystique. Love is heartache. Love is forever.

Why should death do you part? If love is indeed eternal, then couples shouldn’t let a little thing like the afterlife get in the way.

Happy New Year, everyone! Â
January’s full moon is nicknamed the ‘Wolf Moon.’ It’s believed the howling of wolves could be heard more during the time. Today’s Wolf Moon marks the first full moon of 2020, which coincides with the lunar eclipse.Â
This is a sign. Â
Earlier this week, I rebooted the Monthly Haiku Corner. After spreading myself too thin in 2019, and failing to accomplish my goals, I’ve decided not to write weekly haiku. This year, I’m choosing quality over quantity. Although I’m a sucker for monthly holidays and pop culture, I am dedicated to writing darker, more, haunting haiku than before.Â
I’ve found that writing haiku is a learning process. I’m not the most talented or skilled writer but this is all my heart really wants to do. I love horror and over the years, I’ve started several novels and abandoned them. This year, we answer the call. Only courage can navigate the dangerous waves of fear.Â
Make no mistake, I am still committed to sharing the love for Halloween, movies, entertainment, and creating cool, spooky original content for this blog. That won’t change. Besides, April marks the second anniversary of Halloween Haiku and I have big plans to celebrate! Plus, I’m already drawing up a game plan for this year’s Halloween. Halloween 2020 falls on a Saturday this year, under a full moon, a blue moon, no less.Â
Yes, this is truly the year for us selenophiles.
